The Houston Center for Contemporary Craft’s current director Perry Price will move this winter to coastal Maine, where he will start work as the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts’ new director in January. He succeeds Paul Sacaridiz who resigned early this year. Ellen Wieske has served as interim director…Before working at HCCC, Price served as Director of Education for the American Craft Council in Minneapolis, Mi. He was responsible for developing and presenting programming and outreach. In that capacity, he provided thought leadership and cultivated critical thinking in the field of contemporary art. He also served as curator of exhibitions and collections for the Fuller Craft Museum in Brockton, Mass. He developed and oversaw all aspects of the New England craft museum’s exhibitions and collections initiatives.
