Discover the basics of laser cutting with the xTool S1, our new affordable, user-friendly machine at the Haystack Fab Lab. This hands-on workshop covers setup, safety, and essential techniques, guiding you to create your own small project while learning the ins and outs of laser cutting. Please note that this workshop will not cover the computer design process in-depth. James Rutter is Haystack’s Technology Director. He holds a Ph.D. in STEM Education and a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering. He has spent the past 15 years working in creative and educational spaces developing programs and projects for Fab Labs and makerspaces.
